Impacts of Major Socialization Agents on Students' Mental Health in Learning: The Role of Family and School

Abstract

Academic and social achievements of students closely relate to heir mental health, which is highly influenced by major socialization agents. The objective of this paper is to seek how major socialization agents influence mental health of students. The study is based on secondary data collected from books, magazines, research papers, institutional reports and websites. Data and information gathered were critically discussed, synthesized and analyzed to achieve the main objective of the study. The "Students' family" and "Learning environment" were considered key components in the analysis and "peer group influence", and "media" were considered in addition. This study identified that the impact of family is always decisive, though there were many powerful factors affecting the mental health of students.
